About

The Brief Introduction Section

Hello, my name is Scott McDermott. I’m a network engineer with over 20 years in IT. I’ve worn a number of hats over the years, but mostly I’ve been a sysadmin or network engineer. This is where I write (mostly) about data networking. My current focus is Wi-Fi. I provide consulting services and teach Ekahau certification courses.

You can reach me via twitter at @scottm32768 and via email at [email protected].

The Disclaimers and Disclosures Section

What I post here is my opinion. I am sometimes wrong. Feel free to let me know about these occurrences. Be nice. If you aren’t nice, I reserve the right to ignore you.

I sometimes use affiliate links when I link to products. This helps defray the costs of web hosting, which makes my finance manager (aka, my wife) happy.

Vendors from time to time may provide me with equipment, software, or other materials of some value. I will include specific disclaimers in blog posts related to these.

Cisco Champion BadgeCiscoChampion200PXI am a member of the Cisco Champions program. Through this program I receive access to products, a nice polo shirt, and other small considerations. Cisco Champions are passionate about Cisco and enjoy sharing our knowledge, expertise, and thoughts across the social web and with Cisco. I am not a representative of Cisco and my views as a Cisco Champion are still my own.
